Mary Lestie Beckham Hicks, age 81, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away comfortably at home surrounded by her family on Sunday, February 23, 2025.

She was born on March 1, 1943, in Savannah, TN, to the late Brown Beckham and the late Kathleen Cromwell Beckham. Mary worked for over 25 years in the Latch Needle Department at Dyersburg Fabrics. After leaving in 1999, she enjoyed being home with her family and loved summertime. She enjoyed being outside, growing her flowers and garden. She loved sitting on the porch watching all of the birds and feeding them all faithfully. Mary also loved going to watch her grandson's baseball games. She was a wonderful cook. Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. She loved dog sitting with her great-grand dogs, Archie and Scout. Mary will be remembered for her warmth and kindness by all who knew her.

Cremation services are under the direction of Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include her daughter, Denise Hicks Hammett (Tyler), Eddie Hicks (Diane) and Steve Hicks (Pat) all of Dyersburg, TN; four grandchildren, Michael Hicks (Hailee), Craig Hicks, Sheena Tharpe (Jerry) and Mindy Justice (Harvey); two great-granddaughters, Hannah North and Judi-Kaye Justice; a sister, Francis Prah of Chicago, IL; two brothers, Finley Beckham of Savannah, TN and Sammy Beckham of Huntsville, AL; and many special nieces, nephews and extended family members whom she loved dearly.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Gene Hicks; four brothers, Jack Beckham, Daryl Beckham, Bentley Beckham and Joe Beckham; and two sisters, Linda Beckham and Marjorie Beckham.
