Ms. Mary Evans Hickman, of Ridgely, passed away Monday, August 21, 2023 at West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital.

She was born November 18, 1943 in Solomons, MD to the late Gordy & Annie Evans. She lived for many years in Alabama, working as a CNA and caregiver. She loved spending time on her porch, enjoying nature and a cup of coffee, and later watching her great-grandsons at play. She was a devoted and caring homemaker and enjoyed watching movies, especially those featuring Chuck Norris.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Eric Camp, of Gates, TN, Kara Campbell & husband, Derek, of Ridgely; and Crystal Marbrey & husband, Thomas, of Newbern; her brothers, Eddy Evans & wife, Diane of Orlando, FL, Raymond Evans & wife, Melanie, of Demopolis, AL; her sister, Jane Evans of Oklahoma City. She was greatly loved as "Granny Grunt" by her great-grandsons, Riker & Mason Campbell.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Freddy Hickman, her daughter, Elizabeth Camp and her parents.

The family of Ms. Mary Hickman will hold a memorial gathering at a later date to celebrate her life.
