Obituary

Ms. Mary Warren Hallum, of Dyersburg, passed away Thursday, August 29, 2024 at West Tennessee Healthcare-Dyersburg Hospital.  Mary was born March 3, 1935 in Linden, TN, to the late Ruby & St. Elmo Warren.  She was employed by AllWear Manufacturing , also owning Hallum's Grocery with her husband, Richard for many years.  She is remembered for her love of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and her witness to those around her.  She was a long-time member of Holy Hills Baptist Church and was active in the Women's Ministry Union and as a leader for GA's and Girl Scouts.  She truly loved people and never met a stranger, caring for everyone that crossed her path.  In her spare time, she enjoyed crafting and sewing.

She is survived by her daughters, Sherrian Tucker (Billy), Terry Sanders, Tammy Eversole, her son, Richard Hallum, Jr. , her brother, Ricky Carr Hornsby, her grandchildren, Leslie Mouser, Emily Tiller, Chris Hunter, Jonathan Hunter, Mandy Hobson, Heather Ivy,  Jenny Brown, Richard Hallum III, Meagan Lacks, Erica Newhouse & Casey Hallum and was beloved as "Maw" by her fifteen great-grandchildren, Lydia Walden, Ella Goins, Gio Mouser, Thor & Vera Tiller, Colton Hunter, Hazlee Hunter, Brody & Livia Hobson, Wes & Kenna Lacks, Nolan & Addie Brown, Teagan Hallum, Oliver Sowell, Gracelyn Hallum, Serenity Hallum & Jacob Garrison and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband and love of her life of 63 years, Richard Alton Hallum, Sr., her parents, her brother, Billy John Warren and her sisters, Rebecca Pugh & Linda Evans.

Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. conducted by Bros. Jeremy Ballinger, Ronnie Turner & Billy Tucker.  Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. for friends.  Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.

Honored to serve as pallbearers will be; Chris Hunter, Jonathan Hunter, Richard Hallum III, Josh Hobson, Kenneth Mouser and Jeremy Tucker.

It is requested that memorials be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in memory of Mary Hallum.
