Carlene Green, 89, of Tiptonville, TN, passed away on September 29, 2026, at Signature Healthcare of Ridgely. She was born on January 14, 1937, in Dongola, IL, at the home of her paternal grandmother, Susie Eddleman Davidson.

Carlene was a member of Tiptonville First Baptist Church. She was a devoted pastor’s wife, mother and Granny to all of her grandkids and great grandchildren. Carlene enjoyed, cooking, baking, quilting, embroidering, tole and water color painting, working jigsaw puzzles and was an avid reader. Above everything, Carlene enjoyed working alongside her husband in the various churches they served throughout Kentucky, Tennessee and Ohio.

She is survived by her five children, Neil Green (Hong Fang) of Chapmansboro, TN; Rita Gooch (David) of Tiptonville, TN; David Green (Rose) of Ste. Genevieve, MO; Ron Green (Sherry) of Kingston, TN; Carla Bagwell (Jason) of Owensboro, KY. She was blessed with eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Janet Williams of Okeechobee, FL; brothers, Donald Davidson (Mary) of Jefferson City, MO and Carl (Gena) Davidson of Fenton, MO; a sister-in-law, Kris Davidson of Morris, IL, and many cousins whom she loved tremendously. She was preceded in death by her husband, James (Jim) Green, a brother, Fred Davidson, her parents, Carl and Elsie (Davis) Davidson, her in-laws, George and Beulah Woodson, a brother-in-law, Charlie Williams and a nephew, Dennis Williams.

Services will be held on November 7, 2026, at Tiptonville First Baptist Church with burial taking place at St. John’s Cemetery in Dongola, IL.

Even though her life took her in many directions, she always considered southern Illinois home. She visited any time she had the chance especially while her family was still living there. In the last two years of her life, she expressed her desire to return just one more time. We, her children, find it comforting to be able to grant that wish for her as she is laid to rest alongside her husband on the sacred ground she loved.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorPlease find the direct link for Mary's memorial below: https://dup15q.networkforgood.com/projects/306899-mary-carlene-davidson-greenials be sent to Dup15Q Alliance. Carlene’s great grandson is impacted by this syndrome.
