Obituary

Mary Sue Anderson Smith, 86, of Dyersburg, Tennessee died on Monday, Nov.5 at Dyersburg Healthcare and Rehab.

Born on Nov. 5, 1932 in Dyer County, she was the daughter of the late Cecil Anderson and Grace Anderson.

Visitation for Mrs. Smith will be held at the Dyersburg Funeral Home on Wednesday, Nov. 7 from 11 a.m.  to 1:30 p.m.; with graveside services to follow beginning at 2 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg.

Affectionately known to family and friends as "Miss Sue", she spent 40 years as an employee of First Citizens National Bank, spending the last 10 years of her career as manager of the Green Village branch before her retirement.

Miss Sue remained active following retirement, enjoying her time with family, whether it was on vacation at the beach or simply sitting at the pool listening to her favorite classic country music with friends.

She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Ivan Smith of Dyersburg; two bonus sons in Mike Smith (Trish) and Robert White (Zedna), both of Dyersburg; and two bonus daughters in Tammy Couch (Pete) of Dyersburg, and Lena Moody (Curt) of Collierville.

A niece, Joan Finley, and three nephews in Jimmy Anderson, David Anderson and Scotty Tidwell also survive Miss Sue.

In addition, she was also a bonus grandmother to seven grandchildren; Adam Smith (Bethany), Justin White (Deci), Jory White, John Ivan Moody, Stacey Gibson (Mike), Mallory Childress (Tyler), Paige Murray, and Shana Snivley as well as 14 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Miss Sue was also proceeded in death by two brothers, Surcy Anderson and Buddy Anderson, and a sister, Mildred Tidwell.

Pallbearers will be Adam Smith, Justin White, John Ivan Moody, David Anderson, Mark Anderson, and Paul Anderson. Honorary pallbearers will be Gene Finley and Jimmy Anderson.
