Mary Sue Alford, 95, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at Maple Ridge Assisted Living Center.

Mary was born on April 16, 1927, in Dyersburg, TN, to the late, Jim and Cora Palmer Phillips. She was a homemaker and was a member of Southside Baptist Church. Mary enjoyed gardening, ceramics and teaching Sunday School Classes.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, October 14, 2022 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Loren Stephens officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery in Ridgely, TN.

The family will receive visitors from 9:30-11:00 a.m. Friday, October 14, 2022 at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include her son, Barry Davis (Debby) of Dyersburg, TN; a brother, Bobby Phillips (Sandra) of Olive Branch, MS; four sisters, Joyce Jones (Billy) of Dyersburg, TN, Faye Thompson of Memphis, TN, Billy Anne Sutherland of Oklahoma and Jimmie Carolyn Hearnsberger of Bolivar, TN; three grandchildren, Dana Greer (David), Delynn Baggett (Rickey) and Denise Fisher (David); and five great-grandchildren, Connor Greer, Chloe Greer, Anna Fisher, Claire Fisher and Isabella Baggett.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Ferris Thomas Alford; a son, Mike Davis; a daughter, Claudia Davis; and a sister, Betty Myers.

Serving Ms. Mary as pallbearers will be David Greer, David Fisher, Rickey Baggett, Connor Greer, Thomas Hall and Matthew Knox.
