Obituary

Marlin James Holstad, 75, of Union City, died Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at his residence.

He was a retired general plant manager for Zenith Corporation, where he worked for 40 years and an U.S. Navy Veteran.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Ridgely Church of God of Prophecy with the Rev. Clayton Mahan and the Rev. Randy Miller officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive visitors from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at Dyersburg Funeral Home Ridgely Chapel.

Survivors include his wife, Lill Holstad of Union City; two daughters, Marla Holstad of Union City and Cheryl Geer and husband, Glen, of Fort Worth, TX; a son, Robert Duke of Union City; two sisters, Ardis Bang and husband, Vernon, of Texas and Gwen Brown and husband, Lee, of Illinois; four brothers, Harold Holstad and wife, Jeanie, of Albert Lea, MN, Stanley Holstad and wife, Barb, and Richard Holstad, all of Lake Mills, IA and Eldren Holstad and wife, Janelle, of Spencer, IA; and two grandchildren, Jason Duke and Gerard Geer.

He was preceded in death by a son, Paul Duke; and his parents, Morris and Alice Brunsvold Holstad.
