Margaret McCoy

Margaret McCoy, 76, of Tiptonville, TN, passed away on September 19, 2026, at VanAyer Senior Living and Rehab. She was born on June 26, 1950, in Phillipy, Tennessee.

Margaret was a member of Wynnburg Baptist Church and was devoted to her home and family as a homemaker. She found joy in the simple and lasting pleasures of life. She liked working word puzzles, cooking, and spending time in her flower beds tending to her flowers. She also loved to shop, and she especially enjoyed square dancing and line dancing. Above all, Margaret treasured time with her family and took special joy in caring for her grandchildren. She was also an avid doll collector, a hobby that reflected the warmth and personal delight she brought to everyday life.

She is survived by her sons, Brad McCoy of Tiptonville, Tennessee, and Robert McCoy and his wife, Annette, of Ridgely, Tennessee. She is also survived by her sisters, Joan Dragland and her husband, Robert, of Lewisburg, Tennessee, Patricia Morris and her husband, Jerry, of Wilson, Arkansas, Helen Williams of Camden, Tennessee, and Debbie Richardson and her husband, Jimmy, of Tullahoma, Tennessee. Margaret also leaves behind her grandchildren, Matt McCoy, Nate McCoy, and Baylee McCoy, as well as her great-grandson, Waylon McCoy. She will be remembered with love by her family, who were such an important part of her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Robert McCoy; and by her parents, Josh Williams and Altie Lois Williams.

A graveside service will be held on September 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at New Haven Cemetery, 1185 Madie Road, Ridgely, Tennessee 38080. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Margaret McCoy will be remembered for her love of family, her caring nature, and the happiness she found in the people and pastimes she held dear.
