Obituary

Louise Brock Dykes Roberson, 94, of Dyersburg, passed away on Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Dyersburg Manor Nursing Center.

She was a housewife, mother and retired farmer. She was a member of Finley Baptist Church. She was active in Finley Seniors Club and the Quilting Club, where she made quilts for all her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and as well as lots of other people. Ms. Louise was an avid gardener and loved flowers of all kinds.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Charlie Halliburton and the Rev. Ronnie Turner officiating. Burial will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include her three daughters, Barbara Wells (Tom) of Dyersburg, Mary Alice Muzzell (Bill) of Prudenville, MI and Julie Daniels (Billy) of Newbern; a son, John Dykes (Threase) of Newbern; a step-daughter, Peggy Barkes of Dowagiac, MI; four sisters, Dora Freeman of South Carolina, Sue Dykes of Finley, Betty Terry (Jerry) of Steele, MO and Elizabeth Sullivan (Lewis) of Caseyville, MO; two brothers, Bud Brock (Ollie) and Bob Brock (Fay), all of Finley; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Dave Dykes and R.T. Roberson; her parents, John and Jessie Mae (Thrasher) Brock; three sisters, Minnie Lee Brock, Carnell Ashbey and Maxine McPeake; and two brothers, Tom Brock and Bill Brock.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Dykes, Clark Brock, Randy Brock, Dale Dykes, Mike Wells, David Wells and Jeff Dykes. Honorary pallbearers will be Bud Brock, Bob Brock, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the Alzheimer's Association, Dyer County Cancer Fund or to Finley Baptist Church.
