Louis Edward Armstrong, 72, of Friendship, TN, passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at the Crockett County Nursing Home.
Louis was born on June 8, 1949, in Kenton, OH, to the late, Edward and Lillian Armstrong. He worked as a tool & die employee with HECO and was a member of the Jesus Christ Full Gospel Church. Louis was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed camping and watching his favorite baseball team play, the Cincinnati Reds. Louis loved his family and enjoyed playing with his grandchildren. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 7, 2021 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Ronnie Harris officiating. Burial will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.
The Armstrong Family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Dyersburg Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Armstrong of Friendship, TN; two sons, Mason Certain (Kristy) of Forrest, MS and Edward Robertson II (Beth) of Tiptonville, TN; three daughters, Shari Rhodes (Loyd) of California, Brandy Cunningham (Larry) and Beverly Wyatt, all of Friendship, TN; a brother, Terry Armstrong of Upper Sandusky, OH; twelve grandchildren, Levi James, Joseph James, DaShawn Wyatt, Jevan McCottrell, John Newsom, Whitney Newsom, Mason Certain, Savannah Sullivan, Alyssa Register, Miranda Clapp, Jelly Rhodes and Ashton Certain; and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Louis was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Armstrong; and a brother, Francis Armstrong.
Pallbearers will be Randall James, Larry Cunningham, David Brasfield, Bro. Darren Howell and Ronnie Harris, Sr. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Parsons, Mike Babich, Anthony Babich and George Parsons.
