Lou Belle "Tootsie" Whitfield, 89, of Tiptonville, died Friday, April 22, 2011 at The Heritage at Brentwood Health Center in Brentwood.
She was a retired bookkeeper for Uptown Appliance and Furniture Store, member of Tiptonville Church of Christ, member of the Eastern Star and member of Main Street Association.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Tiptonville Church of Christ with Mr. Don Reel officiating. Burial will be in Lake Memorial Gardens. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
The family will receive visitors from 5:30-8 p.m. Monday at her residence in Tiptonville.
Survivors include her daughter, Patsy Cochran and husband, Franklin, of Nashville; two grandchildren, Kent Cochran and wife, Amanda, of Hendersonville and Craig Cochran and wife, Keri, of Franklin; and four great-grandchildren, Griffin Cochran, Zoe Belle Cochran, Carson Cochran and Sara Cochran.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hershel James Whitfield; and her parents, James and Mary Clark Clemmons.
Pallbearers will be Andy Cantillo, Craig Cochran, Kent Cochran, Franklin Cochran, Steve Tipton and Sammy Montgomery. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Corkran, Mickey Moore, John Kreis, Nathan Strain, Albert Markham and Charles Royer.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the American Cancer Society.
