It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Lera Pearl Hanna, 93, on December 31, 2020 at AHC Healthcare in Dyersburg TN due to a very short battle with Covid. She was born August 30, 1927 in Sardis, TN to the late Enoch McBride and Daisy Hamm McBride. Mrs. Hanna was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who had the pleasure to know her. Her biggest treasure was her family and she loved them all dearly and embraced every moment she had with them. She married James Hanna on June 19, 1945, who preceded her in death in 1997 after being married for nearly 52 years.

Mrs. Hanna lived most of her adult life in Lake County and was a member of Wynnburg Baptist Church and a lifelong member of the local Eastern Star Chapter. Her life was a living example of Ephesians 4:32 – "And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ."

Mrs. Hanna is survived by one daughter, Carol Box (Billy) and one son, Jimmy Hanna (Paula) all of Dyersburg TN. Five Grandchildren… Gary Box (Dana), Jeff Box (Brandy), Denise Box Cathey (Richard), Chad Hanna (Liz), and Chris Hanna; Eleven Great Grandchildren and Four Great-Great Grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Raymond McBride of Hornbeak, Arthur McBride of Ridgely and Lloyd McBride of Ragan, TN; two sisters, Tommie Stanfill and Ruth Clenney both of Sardis, TN, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Due to Covid restrictions, no visitation will be held but a Graveside services will be Sunday January 3, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Fairview Cemetery with Pastor Perry Grills and Jeff Box officiating. Friends and family are asked to meet at the cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Gary Box, Chad Hanna, Chris Hanna, Garrett Cathey, Drake Box and Hunter Box.
