Leonard Edward Blalock's Obituary
Leonard Edward Blalock, 88, of Dyersburg, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
He was a retired self-employed painter, member of Middle City Church of Jesus Christ and a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. William Norman and the Rev. Norwood Hoyt officiating. Burial will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive visitors from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Opal Blalock of Dyersburg; a daughter, Roma Fortner and husband, Mike, of Stone Mountain, GA; two sons, Eddie Blalock of Dyersburg and Lanny Blalock and wife, Kathy, of Clinton, LA; a daughter-in-law, Mary Blalock of Dyersburg; thirteen grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Tony Blalock; his parents, Oburn and Myrtle Laird Blalock; one sister; and five brothers.
Pallbearers will be Aaron Blalock, Darron Blalock, Jeremy Blalock, Anthony Blalock, Jason Fortner and Ronald Colvin.
