Obituary

Leon Seaton, 84, of Buchanan, formerly of Finley, died Thursday, March 12, 2009 at Henry County Medical Center in Paris.

He was a retired general contractor, a member of Finley Pentecostal Church, an Army veteran of World War II, and former member of the board of directors of First Tennessee Bank.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Finley Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Doug Ellingsworth officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors at 6-9 p.m. Saturday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Christine Seaton of Buchanan; a son, David Seaton and wife, Sharon, of Buchanan; a sister, Dot Williamson and husband, Harvey, of Finley; a brother, Doug Seaton and wife, Joyce, of Finley; three grandchildren, Shannon Essary and husband, Monty, and Kelly Seaton, all of Dyersburg, and Cale Seaton and wife, Tracy, of Buchanan; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mattie Seaton; and a brother, Ed Seaton.

Pallbearers will be Joe Tidwell, Gerald Tidwell, Cecil Seaton, Charles Seaton, Barry Daugherty, Monty Essary, Barry Hart and Lee Simmons. Honorary pallbearers will be Stoy Permenter, Don Ferris, Richard Hill, Billy Stafford, Dick Curan, Joe Cullan, Harvey Williamson, George Wallace, A.C. Bridgewater and Jack Clark.
