Lawrence Kimbell Weaks, 89, of Tiptonville, TN, passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at The Bridge at Ridgely.

He was born on May 6, 1930, in Hornbeak, TN, to the late Samuel and Lottie Kimbell Weaks. Lawrence was a retired maintenance worker and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Tiptonville. He was a member of the Tiptonville Lions Club and served in the Tennessee National Guard.

Services will be at 12 p.m. Saturday, September 14, 2019 at First United Methodist Church in Tiptonville with the Rev. Marita Burkeen and the Rev. Barbara Blackmon-Fortune officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. Saturday, September 14, 2019 at the church.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Swindle Weaks, whom he married on April 13, 1952; a son, Timothy Weaks; three brothers, Gary Weaks, Nelson Weaks and Joseph Weaks; and five sisters, Wilma Hampton, Earline Allen, Onita Foote, Mildred Johnson and Helen Gable.

Pallbearers will be Albert Markham, Alan Butler, Cliff Berry, Jr., Carl Haywood, Sean Haywood and Greg Story. Honorary pallbearers will be Bubba Chadwick, Skipper Pierce and Tommy Lovell.
