Lawrence Edward Parnell, Sr., 64, of Bonicord, died Sunday, January 23, 2011 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
He was a retired supervisor for Utility Maintenance and a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church in Friendship.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Zion Hill Baptist Church with Bro. Tommy Warner and Bro. David Southerland officiating. Burial will be in Zion Hill Cemetery. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Dyersburg Funeral Home and from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Marilyn Parnell of Bonicord; a daughter, Laura Parnell of Bonicord; two sons, Lawrence Parnell, Jr. and Kenneth Parnell, both of Bonicord; two sisters, Florence Staggs of Hayti, Mo. and Shirley Baker of Trenton; a brother, Ulis Mosier of Ripley; and twelve grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Ivy Caton Parnell; and two brothers, Luther Mosier and Nelson Mosier.
Pallbearers will be Buck Nash, Don McCanless, Robert McCanless, Gordon McCanless, Bryan McCanless, Ronnie Shaw, Wayne Laster and Tommy Smith.
