Lavenia Sue
Seaton Pruitt
February 27, 1938 – June 26, 2018
Lavenia Sue Seaton Pruitt, 80 of Dyersburg, Tennessee departed this Earth at her residence on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 to join her Father in Heaven and beloved husband of 50 years, Billie Gene Pruitt (Granddaddy).
Born on February 27, 1938 to the late Benjamin and Melissa Seaton, Mrs. Pruitt was one of eight children. Survived by sisters: Dixie Willis Carson (Johnny) and Betty Seaton Willis (Harold), "Granny" as her family so affectionately called her is now proceeded in death with six siblings: Carl Seaton, Randy Seaton, Kenneth Seaton, Brenda Kemp, and Dean Lambert.
Retired from William's Jewelers, Granny was a homemaker by night and a faithful member of Parr Avenue Church of Christ. Nothing made our Granny more proud than having a pew full of family for a Sunday morning service. Coming home from work or visiting with Granny on the weekends, it was nothing for her to "whip up" something delicious for all of her family to enjoy. Granny prided herself for her faith, love for others and stead-fast service to those around her.
Creating a soft place to land and a sanctuary for family memories, Granny worked alongside Granddaddy sun-up to sun-down to bring "The Hill" to reality where together they raised three children, two daughters and a son. We, the family, all agree that one of our fondest memories of pulling onto Pruitt Lane was seeing Granny porch sittin' with her mason jar, filled to the brim, of sweet iced tea.
Living a long and meaningful life, Granny is survived by her three children: Gina Pruitt Smith, Tina Pruitt Via (Mike) and Stacy Pruitt (Patty), all of Dyersburg; Five grandchildren: Eric Brooks of Dyersburg, Clint Bane (Brenda) of Phoenix, Arizona, Whitney Brooks Guivehchi (Derek) of Dyersburg, Ricky Wayne Brooks of Dyersburg and Shellye Pruitt Wallace (Clint) of Dyersburg. Until her last day, Granny had the privilege of spoiling eight great-grandchildren, which she was always glad to do.
Visitation for Granny will be held on Friday, June 29, 2018 at Dyersburg Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. Services are set for Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home conducted by Bro. Parks Thurmond and Bro. Scott Owens with grave side to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg.
Pallbearers will be: Stacy Pruitt, Eric Brooks, Terry Seaton, Murray Kemp, Ricky Brooks, and Mike Via.
Honorary Pallbearers: Clint Bane, Ricky Wayne Brooks, Clint Wallace, and Derek Guivehchi.
