Obituary

Laurice Pearson Hearn, 90, of Knoxville, formerly of Tiptonville, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2015 at Heritage Assisted Living Center in Knoxville.

She was a retired bookkeeper for People's Grocery in Tiptonville. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Tiptonville, where she served as church secretary, was a member of the choir, helped with the Brotherhood Fellowship, was a Sunday School Teacher, served as the youth choir director and had perfect attendance at Sunday School for 35 years. Laurice was a member of Tiptonville Women's Club, member of the PTA, the Band Boosters and taught Sunday School at the local nursing home. She was on the board of the Reelfoot Arts and Crafts Association and was active in all community activities.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Tiptonville with Mr. Willard Hearn and Bro. John Troutman officiating. Burial will be in Tiptonville City Cemetery. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive visitors from 10:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

Survivors include her daughter, Julie Hearn Powell of Knoxville; a son, Willard Wade Hearn and wife, Amy, of Milan; two sisters, Frances Pearson Jabbour of Memphis and Helen Pearson Mackinnon of Allen Park, MI; five grandchildren, Kelly Wade Hearn, Carrie Virginia Vaughn, Stephen Powell, Laura Powell and Zac Nash; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Hearn; her parents, Carl and "Bill" Johnson Pearson; a sister, Connie Pearson; a brother, Buddy Pearson; and a grandson, Ryan Powell.

Pallbearers will be Craig Williams, Greg Williams, Corey Glidewell, Norman Rhodes, Marty Vaughn, Danny Cook, David Gooch and John Fields. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Hearn, Donnie Owens, Tinker Norris, Tommie Bramlett, Tom Roark, Michael Young and the Rebekah Sunday School Class.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the First Baptist Church in Tiptonville.
