Larry Thomas McGuire, 79, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Larry was born on September 29, 1942, in Dyersburg, TN, to the late, Thomas and Beauton McGuire. He was a former member of the following: Dyer County Farm Bureau Board, Dyer County FSA County Committee and the Tennessee National Guard Reserves. As an FFA Alumni member himself, he was always supportive of his children and grandchildren in their endeavors. His favorite things were country dancing, squirrel and coon hunting and squatting while talking with friends. Larry lived his life to the fullest and in his own unique way.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, August 19, 2022 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Phipps and Mr. Royce McGuire officiating. Burial will be in the family cemetery in Dyersburg.

The family will receive visitors from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, August 18, 2022 at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his two daughters, Melissa McGuire Lowery (Spence) and Kerrie McGuire Townson, all of Dyersburg, TN; a son, Allen Willis of Dyersburg, TN; a sister, Sharon McGuire Horner (Ray) of Dyersburg, TN; a brother, Jerry Franklin McGuire (Leatha) of Pinson, TN; and five grandchildren, Ann Thomas Lowery, Liza Jo Lowery, Kloye Nichole Townson, William Thomas Townson and Hazel Rae Townson.

Pallbearers will be Terry McGuire, Ray Horner, Dale McGuire, Spence Lowery, Terry Harris, Mike McGuire, Jason Lineberry, Phillip Allen McGuire, Jimmy Hester and Andy Bivens.
