Larry Joe Gurien, 66, of Newbern, TN, passed away on Friday, March 12, 2021 at West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital.

Larry was born on September 1, 1954, in Dyersburg, TN, to the late, James and Rosie Butler Gurien. He was a correctional officer for Northwest Correctional Facility and was an avid fisherman.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at New Haven Cemetery with Pastor Billy Alan Baumgardner officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Family members and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.

Survivors include his daughter, Raina Baumgardner (Billy Alan) of Cedar Grove, TN; a son, Joseph Christopher Gurien (Regina) of Tallahassee, FL; five sisters, Pat Leake, Faye Williams (Jimmy) and Lavon Bates, all of Ridgely, TN, Jean Ennis of Dyersburg, TN and Peggy Markham (Ray) of Newbern, TN; two brothers, Tommy Gurien (Sheila) and Jamie Gurien (Janice), all of Ridgely, TN; nine grandchildren, Stephanie Benford, Craig Baumgardner, Ron Baumgardner, Josie Baumgardner, Conor Baumgardner, Skyla Baumgardner, Jaina Baumgardner, Seth Gurien and Maddox Gurien; and eight great-grandchildren.
