Mr. Larry Wayne Fortner, of Friendship, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 20, 2022 at West Tennessee Healthcare Jackson General Hospital.  He was born Oct. 23, 1965 to the late Ellen & Larry Frank Fortner in Memphis, TN.  He was a carpenter for the Miller Construction Company for many years.  He loved working with his hands, being a "Jack of All Trades".  He enjoyed spending time outdoors with family and friends, fishing and camping.  Hw will be remembered as a true gypsy soul at heart.

He is survived by his wife, Tina Fortner, his daughter, Shannon Hurst and husband, A.J., his son, Chris Fortner and wife, Ashley, his brother, Bud Hardin, his sisters, Mary Beth Thornburg & Rebecca Whittaker, his niece Ashley Wilson and husband, Jimmie as well as many other beloved family members. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, Macy Castellaw, Alanna Fortner, Paxton DeGood, Easton, Cooper & Stella Hurst.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Bonnie Fortner.

Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home on Sunday, Jan. 23, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. conducted by Bro. Doug Walls and Bro. Ronnie Turner.  Visitation will be held beginning at 2:00 p.m.
