Laquita Armstrong Alford, age 86, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Friday, February 20, 2026, at St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett, TN.

Born on March 16, 1939, in Dyersburg, TN, she was the beloved daughter of the late Roger Lee Armstrong and Violet Emmons Armstrong. Laquita was the co-owner of Alford Printing Company and a dedicated homemaker. She was known for her deep love for her family, especially her granddaughter Summer, and was a second mother to her nieces and nephews. Her great sense of humor and love for telling jokes brought joy to those around her. Laquita was Pentecostal by faith and took wonderful care of her family, leaving behind cherished memories for all who knew her.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at Fairview Cemetery with Bro. Jeremy White officiating. The family will receive visitors beginning at 1 p.m. until service time at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include her daughter, Terri Alford Smith and husband, Jimmy, of Arlington, TN; her son, Jerry Lynn Alford of Millington, TN; a sister, Rogenia "Ro" Anderson of Dyersburg, TN; and her granddaughter, Summer Smith of Arlington, TN.

In addition to her parents, Laquita was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Jerry Gleen Alford; her brother, Roger Doyle "Sonny" Armstrong; and two sisters, Josephine George and Darlene Moody.
