Lamarr Gibson, 61, of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at Delta Medical Center in Memphis.
He was retired from Boll Weevil Eradication Services, a member and deacon at Hillcrest Baptist Church, a former Red Coat volunteer at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center where he received the Geraldine Reeves Award for top volunteer, and received the Outstanding Farmer Award from the Chamber of Commerce.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Lynn King, the Rev. Joe Naylor and the Rev. Ronnie Wylie officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors at 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Williamson Gibson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and May Flower Gibson; a sister, Novelleen Gibson Skelton; and two brothers, Bobby Gibson and Darrell Gibson.
Pallbearers will be Gerald Brandon, Leon Crum, Tommy Hamer, Jamie Park, Fred Bell and Jerome Campbell.
