Kenneth Waterson Alford, age 87, passed away peacefully at his residence in Dyersburg, TN, on March 27, 2026.

Born on October 8, 1938, in Dyersburg, TN, Kenneth was the beloved son of the late Lester Paul Alford and Kathryn Rogers Alford. A lifelong resident of Dyersburg, Kenneth only left his hometown for two years to serve in the Army after graduating from college.

Kenneth was a proud alumnus of Dyersburg High School, class of 1956, and went on to earn a degree in Chemical Engineering from Georgia Tech in 1961. He dedicated his professional life to Dyersburg Fabrics, where he retired as Vice President in 1993.

On August 16, 1959, Kenneth married Mary Katherine Alford, and together they shared 63 wonderful years of marriage. Kenneth was a lifelong member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and had a passion for duck hunting, fishing, and traveling. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, April 13, 2026 at Hillcrest Baptist Church with Bro. Shawn Allred officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. The family will receive visitors beginning at 11 a.m. until service time at the church.

Survivors include his two sons, Trent Alford and wife, Jennifer, of Jackson, TN and Paul Alford and wife, Robin, of Dyersburg, TN; nine grandchildren, Dr. Kathleen Alford, Mary Kate McCullum (Demetrius), Anna Turner (Tristan), Dr. Hayden Alford (Hannah), Megan Donovan (Robert), Steven Alford, Blake Alford, Aiken Alford and Alli Alford; and three great-grandchildren, Katherine Alford, Hallie Donovan and Annie Donovan.

In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy Alford; and a son, Greg Alford.
