Obituary

J.W. Green, 96, of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at Maple Ridge Assisted Living Center.

He was a retired CEO and president of the Bank of Elbridge, elder and member of Cloverdale Church of Christ, original organizer and a past president of Elbridge Water Association, instrumental in implementing TVA Electric Service for the ninth district of Obion County, past president and director of Obion County Department of Human Services, former director of Tennessee Banker's Association and past president and one of the original officers of the Ken-Tenn Bank Administration Institute.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Laddie Owens, Bro. Rick Crawford and Bro. Jim Chamblee officiating. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery in Elbridge.

Survivors include a daughter, Joan Owens and husband, Laddie, of Dyersburg; three grandchildren, Kathy Tidwell and husband, Rickie, Kevin Owens and wife, Lisa, and Christy Moore and husband, Rob, all of Dyersburg; three great-grandchildren, Victoria Seaton, Landon Moore and Logan Moore, all of Dyersburg; and a great-great-grandchild, Jordan Williamson of Dyersburg.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jewel Mitchell Green; a son, Bobby Dan Green; and his parents, Robert Lee and Lula Green.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Owens, Rob Moore, Landon Moore, Rickie Tidwell, Logan Moore, Bill Ables and John Kaplan.

Honorary pallbearers will be fellow residents of Maple Ridge Manor, which are James Lockhart, Dick Lane, Roy Lingenfelter, Murray Kemp, Bob Williams and Bill Gaither.
