June Katherine Hendrix Cooper, 90, of Dyersburg, passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at her residence.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs. Cooper was a faithful member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. She was an active member of her community, whose heart and arms embraced all she came into contact with. Her love of God and Jesus was a light, which shined through her and warmed all of our hearts.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Scott and the Rev. Michael Crandall officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Survivors include her daughter, Vicky Peel and husband, Ike, of Dyersburg; seven grandchildren, Dawn Joslin, Heather Sullivan, Larry Joslin, Katherine-Ann Joslin, Jansen Joslin Henderson and husband, Matt, Victoria Ashley Buckingham and husband, Matt, and Charles Casey Buckingham and wife, Megan; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bert Cooper; two sons, George Joslin and Dennis Joslin; her parents, Homer and Ozella Hendrix; and three brothers, Kenneth Hendrix, Homer Hendrix and Rusty Hendrix.
Pallbearers will be Randall Prince, Van Buckingham, Kevin Cook, Bubba Hendren, Tommy Weakley and Charles Hendrix.
The family requests that memorials be directed to Hillcrest Baptist Church.
