Obituary

Juanita R. Kee, 87, of Newbern, TN, passed away on Monday, March 6, 2023 at her residence.

She was born on June 27, 1935, in Newbern, TN, to the late Sam Thomas Pack and the late Evie Ellar Newsome Pack. Juanita worked for Morris Glove Factory in Newbern for 7 years. She then went on to work for Sylvania until she retired. Later, Juanita went to work for the Northwest Tennessee Correctional Complex for 15 years, where she was the first woman in Tennessee to become Sergeant. After her retirement from NWTCC, she managed Eagle Wood Apartments. Juanita then went on to work for Wal-Mart for 14 years.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, March 10, 2023 at Fairview Cemetery with Bro. Mac Daniels officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Family members and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.

Survivors include her two daughters, Lisa Kirk (Ronnie) and Tanya Diane Roberts; two sons, James Thomas Reed and Franklin Lynn Reed (Bea); four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-great-grandchild on the way; and her K-9 companions, Lucy and Paisley.

In addition to her parents, Juanita was preceded in death by her first husband, Joe Freeman Reed; her second husband, Joseph Harold Kee; her late in life companion, J.R. Hale; three sisters, Maybelle Halford, Dorothy Pack and Anita Morris; and a great-great-grandson, Seth Moss.

The family would like to thank the great people at Extended Care for the loving care they gave to their mother.
