J.T. "Bubba" Burrus, age 97, of Tiptonville, TN, passed away on Monday, October 7, 2024, at Reelfoot Manor Nursing Center.

Born on June 22, 1927, in Tiptonville, TN, he was the son of the late James Thomas Burrus, Sr. and Fannie Nobles Burrus. J.T. was a retired superintendent at Federal Compress & Warehouse and a proud U.S. Army Veteran. He was a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church in Tiptonville and an active participant in the Lion's Club. J.T. enjoyed playing golf in his leisure time.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, October 11, 2024 at Crockett Chapel Church with Rev. Marita Burkeen officiating. Burial will be in Crockett Chapel Cemetery. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The family will be receiving friends prior to the services beginning at 1 p.m. and continuing until the service time.

He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Burrus of Tiptonville, TN; his daughter, Gloria Brown and her husband Wilford of Jackson, TN; and his two grandchildren, Julie Brown of Cincinnati, OH, and Amy Horner and her husband Jonathan of Jackson, TN.

J.T. was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Ralph Burrus, Ben Taylor Burrus, and Robert Hale Burrus, and two sisters, Lillian Petty and Laura Pique.
