Joy May Metcalf, 76, of Jackson, TN, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2020 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Joy was born on July 19, 1944, in Maury City, TN, to the late, Milan and Mary Frances Sturdivant Paris. She was a homemaker and was a member of Beech Bluff Pentecostal Church.

Services will be at 12 p.m. Friday, November 6, 2020 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Curtis Howard officiating. Burial will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive visitors from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Metcalf of Jackson, TN; a son, William Elmore (Mary) of Friendship, TN; a daughter, Linda May Haley (Donald) of Friendship, TN; three step-sons, Paul Metcalf (Tina) of Jackson, TN, Thomas Metcalf (Jennifer) of Somerville, TN and John Metcalf of Chicago, IL; two step-daughters, Chris Bell (Terry) of Henderson, TN and Sheila Roberts (Ben) of Jackson, TN; six sisters, Shirley Fay Ryberg, Nettie Gean Weaver and Mary Frances Jernigan, all of Hayti, MO, Virginia Lou Hewett of Arizona, Martha Kay Kail of Hickman County, TN and Juanita Sue Golf of Big Sandy, TN; two brothers, James Edward Paris of Halls, TN and Russell Eugene Paris of Hayti, MO; fifteen grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Her sons and sons-in-law will serve as pallbearers.
