Joseph "Marty" Martin Swafford, 57, of Henderson, TN, formerly of Dyersburg, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Marty was born on June 22, 1962, in Dyersburg, TN, to the late Joe Swafford and Jerry Simmons. He worked in the maintenance department for the Dana Corporation in Humboldt. Marty proudly served his country in the United States Navy as an Aviation Electrician and Air Crewman.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, December 23, 2019 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Annetta Camp officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The Swafford Family will receive visitors from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, December 22, 2019 at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his daughter, Jessica Swafford of Brooksville, FL; three sons, Joseph Swafford of Newbern, TN, Jacob Swafford and wife, Jossie, of Dyersburg, TN and Ben Hale (Morgan) of Pinson, TN; his companion of 7 years, Lisa Hale of Henderson, TN; a sister, Gina Seratt and husband, Paul, of Newbern, TN; and two grandchildren, Maycee Seaton and McKenna Swafford.

In addition to his parents, Marty was preceded in death by a sister, Kim McCarron.

Pallbearers will be Dan Fowlkes, Joe Davison, Jeff Earp, Rooster Galloway, Mark Lawson and Chris Hall.
