Obituary

Joseph Arcera, 83, of Dyersburg, died Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at his residence.
He was retired as a truck driver for Gordon Truck Lines, a member of Springhill Baptist Church and an Army veteran of World War II.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Springhill Baptist Church with the Rev. James Branscum officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 5:30-8 p.m. today at Dyersburg Funeral Home and from 9-11 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Cook Arcera of Dyersburg; two daughters, Tommie Louise Grubbs of Madisonville and Loretta Hruska of Willow Brook, Ill.; a son, Jimmy Hayes of Monticello, Ind.; two sisters, Mildred Cottone of Stonepark, Ill., and Marie Maggio of Des Plaines, Ill.; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Lucia Arcera; and two brothers, Rocco Arcera and Henry Arcera.

Pallbearers will be Steve Clayton, Roger Carroll, Milton Weatherford, Keith Anderson, Thomas Mullins and Mark Maupin. Honorary pallbearers will be Cecil Furrow and Roger Cook.

The family requests that any memorials be directed to Springhill Baptist Church.
