Jonathan Steel Anderson, age 67 of Hernando, MS formerly of Dyersburg, TN passed away Thursday, August 18, 2022 at Baptist Memorial Hospital - Desoto.

Jon was born in Dyersburg, TN on April 6, 1955 to the late Wilburn and Janet Flatt Anderson. He was a 1973 graduate of Dyersburg High School. Jon left Dyersburg in 1975 to pursue a music career in Memphis. After he got settled in Memphis, he was awarded a position at Liberty Land theme park in 1977. In 1978, he formed and led a very popular band called "Rebel Yell". This band traveled the world touring in Europe, Asia, Pacific, and Mediterranean where he performed for USO shows.

In 1985, he and Melinda Grable formed Heartbeat Productions. As a full service entertainment and event management company, they produced corporate events and booked entertainment for many clients. In 2019, Jon formed Anderson Production Group that continues today under the management of his son, Matthew Anderson.

The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 from 2pm until 3pm at Dyersburg Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at 3pm in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home conducted by Canon Scott Blake. Burial will follow in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include his son, Matthew Steel Anderson of Memphis, TN; his life partner, Debbie Butterick of Hernando MS; two brothers, Daniel Neil Anderson (Judy Jones) of Nashville, TN and Joseph Aubrey Anderson (Jenni) of Evansville, IN and one sister, Deborah Baumgardner (Kent) of Newbern, TN.

Honoring Jon as pallbearers will be family and friends.
