Obituary

Johnnie Brown Prince, 97, of Ridgely, died Sunday, April 22, 2012 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.

She was a retired merchant for Prince Grocery in Ridgely, member of Ridgely First Baptist Church and a member of XYZ Club. She was a Hall of Fame inductee to the Hometown Heroes at the Bridge of Ridgely, active in Senior Olympics, an avid genealogist and loved to travel.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Ridgely Chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Terry Lynch officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Survivors include her son-in-law, John Parker of Jackson; and her special friends, Fred and Marilyn Wortman of Ridgely.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elvin Prince; a daughter, Linda Prince Parker; and her parents, Cole and Lida Thompson Scott.

Pallbearers will be Shawn Wortman, Franklin Wortman, Tim McCree, Kent Patterson, Trent Patterson, John Neil and Jackson Neil. Honorary pallbearers will be Wilkes Moore, Mack Forrester, Sue Fisher, Faye Hall, Karnese Wood, Marigene Forrester, Barbara Wood and Modest Tolar.
