Mr. Johnathon "J.C." Curt Newsom, 23 of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2024 at West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital.

J.C. was born on April 2, 2000, in Dyersburg, TN to Angela Gladden Newsom and Johnny Newsom. He was employed in the maintenance department for National Mill Maintenance at NuCor Steel. J.C. was a 2018 graduate of Dyer County High School, where he mastered welding. He was a gear head that loved anything with a motor. In his spare time, he enjoyed grilling out with his family and friends. J.C. was looking forward to and proud of the fact that he was having his first son, Johnathon Curt Newsom, Jr., due on Father's Day with his companion, Bethany Maupin.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2024 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Charlie Halliburton officiating.

The family will receive visitors from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 2024 at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his mother, Angela Hale of Finley, TN; his father, Johnny Newsom of Dyersburg, TN; his sister, Jinny Ann Hale of Finley, TN; his companion, Bethany Maupin of Dyersburg, TN; his grandmothers, Judy Norris (Stanley) and Charlene Simmons (Gregory) all of Dyersburg, TN; two aunts, Abby Gladden and Gina Hicks; and two uncles, Curtis Gladden, Jr. and Jake Newsom.

J.C. was preceded in death by his step-father, J.R. Hale, Jr.; his maternal grandfather, Curtis Gladden; his paternal grandfather, John Everett Newsom, Jr.; and his great-grandmother, Margaret Louise Clark.

Pallbearers will be J.B. Goldsmith, J.C. Holden, Jacob Jackson, Alex Scott, Mark Manley, Jr., Dakota Davis, Tommy Taylor and Troy McCollum.
