Mr. John W. "Buddy" Davis, II, of Memphis, passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2026 at west Tennessee Healthcare-Dyersburg Hospital.  Buddy was born October 9, 1951 in Dyersburg to the late J.W. and Marie Davis.  He was a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University where he studied Agriculture and was a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity.  His career led him to work as a conductor for various railroads across the Southeast, including Illinois Central, Amtrak and others.  in his free time, he enjoyed the quiet pace of fly-fishing as well as crafting wooden boat models and replicas. Time spent in local coffeeshops sharing meals and conversion brought him great joy.

Buddy is survived by his Daughter, Kristi Greer and husband, Jay, of Dyersburg, his granddaughter, Anna Greer, his sister Dena Hilliard, a niece, Hollie McAfee and husband, James and great-nephews Jacob and Logan McAfee.  He is preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside funeral services will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg on Friday, March 27, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. led by Mrs. Kristi Greer.  Friends and family members will be honored to serve as pallbearers.

Memorials in lieu of flowers are asked to be directed to the work of St Jude Children's research Hospital.
