John David Thompson, age 90, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Okeena Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Born on May 19, 1935, in Dyer County, TN, he was the son of the late William and Hazel Johnson Thompson. John worked as a maintenance mechanic for Dyersburg Fabrics. He enjoyed traveling, hunting deer and squirrels, working on small engines, and riding motorcycles. He will be remembered fondly by those who knew him.

Cremation services for Mr. Thompson are under the direction of Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his son, Roger Thompson and wife, Jennifer, of Halls, TN; two sisters, Anita Lumley of Dyersburg, TN and Dorothy Pace of Finley, TN; two grandchildren, Zach Thompson and John Thompson; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife Wanda Redden Thompson; and a son, David Wayne Thompson.
