John W. Richards, Jr., 74, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

He was born on April 14, 1943, in Dyersburg, TN, to the late John W. Richards, Sr. and the late Eddie Cecil Garrison Richards. John was retired from the maintenance department for Oldberg Manufacturing, was formerly an owner-operator truck driver and was also a former employee of World Color Press. He was a member and deacon at Evansville Baptist Church and served his country in the Army National Guard. John was a member of the Ham Radio Operators Association.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2018 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Griffin and the Rev. Don Williams officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2018 at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Dora McCutcheon Richards of Dyersburg; a son, Johnny Wade Richards and wife, Barbara, of Dyersburg; and two grandchildren, Michael Richards and Benjamin Richards, both of Dyersburg.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley Jean Rogers and Dixie Katherine Anderson; and a brother, Larry Ray Rogers.

Pallbearers will be Sean Slater, Bradley Hudson, Chad Richards, Bobby Winchester, Mike Winchester and Mark Winchester.
