John Edward Petty's Obituary
John Edward Petty, 87, of Dyersburg, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Tennova Healthcare Dyersburg Regional.
He was a retired salesman for the Dyersburg Coca-Cola Plant. John attended Pierce Lane Church of Christ.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Mac Daniels officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
The Petty Family will receive visitors from 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Petty of Dyersburg; a daughter, Tammy Bennett of Dyersburg; a son, Ricky Petty of Dyersburg; and four grandchildren, Dustin Bennett, John Paul Bennett, Kevin Petty and wife, Samantha, all of Dyersburg, and Alison Ellis and husband Bobby, of Paris.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Mark Thomas Petty and Dennis Ray Petty; his parents, C.B. and Carman Tankersley Petty; and two brothers, Kenneth Petty and George Petty.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Bennett, John Paul Bennett, Kevin Petty, Bobby Ellis, Mike Morgan, and Mark Morgan.
The Petty Family requests that memorials be directed to the Alzheimer's Foundation, 322 Eighth Avenue, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001.
