John Leonard Moore, 59, of Ridgely, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at his residence.
He was an agricultural pilot and a member of Cottonwood Baptist Church. He was a farmer, postal worker, formerly a Ridgely police department officer and a deputy with Lake County and Dyer County Sheriff's Departments. He was an avid fisherman.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Cottonwood Baptist Church with the Rev. John Coleman officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the Ridgely Chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, Donna K. Moore of Ridgely; a daughter, Stacey Moore Johnson; a son, Nathan Moore; his mother, Minnie Jo West of Ridgely; a sister, Freida Moore Chandler; and two grandchildren, Patrick Johnson and Drew Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert C. Moore; a sister, Jo Anne Moore; and his grandparents, Perry and Mable Moore and Odis and Vallie Howie.
Pallbearers will be Derek Johnson, Josh Barnes, William Pilkenton, Tommy Hodge, Jackie Howell and Brad Perkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Lynch, Rod Lynch, Artie Lynch, Grant Lynch, Ridgely police Department and Lake County Sheriff's Department.
