Joey Dwight Kimbrell, 61, of Dyersburg, went to be with his Lord on Monday, March 27, 2017 in Jackson, TN.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Billy Brooks and Bro. Leonard Ballinger from Holy Hills Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Joey was born April 18, 1955 to Herman and Betty Kimbrell. He married Kathy J. Permenter on August 4, 1978.
Joey was a dedicated employee of Ermco for 35 years. He retired in October 2014.
He served McCullough Chapel Church as Deacon from 1990-2014. He also served as Sunday School Director. In April 2014, Joey and Kathy joined Holy Hills Baptist Church.
Joey was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a kind, gentle, amazing person. He loved the Lord and loved his wife. He loved to go camping and grill out. Joey also loved antiques, Native American Jewelry and Dr. Pepper. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
Joey was preceded in death by his father, Herman Kimbrell; and his brother, Wayne Kimbrell.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Kimbrell; a daughter, Haley Brooks and husband, Ben, of Dyersburg; a son, Joseph Kimbrell and wife, Kayla, of Dyersburg; three grandchildren, Lennon Grace Brooks, Paisley Kate Kimbrell and Jase Dwight Kimbrell, all of Dyersburg; his mother, Betty Kimbrell of Dyersburg; a brother, Mark Kimbrell of Covington; and a sister, Tina Brock of Dyersburg.
Pallbearers will be Randy Chapman, Billy Rogers, Tony Lawrence, Clint Throgmorton, Ricky DeSpain and Bobby Childress. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Bivens, Ronnie Glass, and deacon bodies of McCullough Chapel Church and Holy Hills Baptist Church.
