Joel Thomas White, 91, of Finley, TN, passed away on Monday, November 18, 2019 at West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital.

Joel was born on November 19, 1927, in Finley, TN, to the late, Robert M. and Lena Crawley White. He retired with the maintenance department for Republic Builders and he also worked at Sylvania for many years. Joel was a member and usher at Finley United Methodist Church. He proudly served his country during WWII in the United States Navy.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 23, 2019 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Ralph Gunter officiating. Burial will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.

The White Family will receive visitors from 4-7 p.m. Friday, November 22, 2019 at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his two daughters, Diane White and Debbie Walker and husband, Tony, all of Dyersburg, TN; a brother, John White of Dyersburg, TN; a half-brother, Charles Lynn White of Paxton, IL; two grandchildren, Ross Woods and wife, Jennifer, and Gena Woods Patterson and husband, Derek; and five great-grandchildren, Lexi Lee, Emmett Woods, Allie Long, Dane Patterson and Jayden Patterson.

In addition to his parents, Joel was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Walk White; two brothers, Robert M. White and James R. White; a half-brother, Kenneth White; a step-brother, Bill Starnes; and three sisters, Ruth White, Eileen White and Patty Sue Luthy.

Pallbearers will be Steve Anderson, Gary McGill, Gene Bolte, Mike Bohannan, Tommy McElyea and Tony Walker.
