Joe Smith, 68, of Finley, TN, passed away on Monday, September 17, 2018 at West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital.

He was born on October 12, 1949, in Dyersburg, TN, to the late Walter and Lena Johnson Smith. Joe was a farmer, a member of Farm Bureau, a board member of Forked Deer Electric Company and was a lifetime member of the Dyer County Coon Club. He was also a member of Independent Free Holiness Church and was the caretaker for the Chic Church of God. Joe was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a great friend to all.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Independent Free Holiness Church with Bro. Steven Spires and Bro. Calvin Smith officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The Smith Family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Smith of Finley; two sons, Chuck Smith (Joy) of Finley and Chad Smith (Shelley) of Halls; two daughters, Julie Smith of Finley and Candy Davis (Jared) of Dyersburg; a sister, Margaret Hill of Finley; nine grandchildren, Katie Willis (Matt), Amanda Jones (Henry), Steven Spires (Amanda), Chloe Eskew, Lilly Eskew, Lexie Smith, Emma Millner, J.D. Smith and Lydia Millner; and three great-grandchildren, Hannah Willis, Indie Jones and Sawyer Spires.

Pallbearers will be Bill Mancell, Jr., Leonard Lee, Robert Lynn Hunt, Jeff Hill, Daniel Jamison, Matt Willis, Henry Jones and Wayne Hunt.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be directed to Independent Free Holiness Church.
