Joe Walker Goad, 90, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital.

He was born on November 27, 1927, in Midway, TN, to the late Rice Pierce Goad and the late Maude Willard Goad. Joe was a retired tool and die supervisor for several companies. His last employment was with the State of Arkansas. He had been a Mason for 60 years. Joe was a WWII Navy Veteran and a Korean War Army Veteran, serving in the 11th Airborne Paratrooper Division.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Dyer County Memorial Gardens with Bro. Jimmy Ennis officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his two sons, Richard Goad of Dyersburg and Danny Goad of Wylie, TX; a daughter, Cindy Johnson of Dayton, OH; a brother, Marshall "Bo" Goad of Dyersburg; four grandchildren, Justin Goad, Walker Goad, Kevin Goad and Joey Holmes; and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 wives, Edith W. Vandergrift Goad and Melba Jean Caldwell Goad; and a son, Steven Goad.

Pallbearers will be Walker Goad, Jeff Goad, Kevin Goad and Justin Goad.
