Mr. Joe Marvin Gant, 76, of Tiptonville, TN, passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Mr. Gant was born on July 7, 1944, in Wynnburg, TN, to the late, J.B. and Elsie Stuart Gant. He was a retired insurance salesman with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company and was a member of Willingham Memorial Baptist Church. Joe had been a southern gospel singer for over 58 years, including the Gant Family, Roy McNeal and the New Prophets and most recently the Living Truth Quartet.

Funeral services for Mr. Gant will be Monday, February 15, 2021 in the Ridgely Chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Chuck Graham and the Rev. Michael Pitts officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery.

The Gant Family will receive visitors from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday, February 15, 2021 at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Bargery Gant of Tiptonville, TN; a daughter, Sharon Pickens (Marty) of Adamsville, TN; a step-daughter, Karen Miller of Adams, TN; a step-son, Johnny Miller (Tracy) of Murfreesboro, TN; a brother, Doug Gant (Brenda) of Ridgely, TN; two sisters, Rachel Bargery of Newbern, TN and Jeanette Turner of Ridgely, TN; three grandchildren, Michael Pitts (Emma) of Savannah, TN, Chelsea Prater (Nick) of Gorham, NH and Shelbie Pickens of Chattanooga, TN; three great-grandchildren, Henry Scott Prater, Lyla Jewel Pitts and Charles "Charlie" Michael Pitts III; and three step-grandchildren, Adam Brooks, Justin Miller and Ryan Miller (Kayla).

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by a brother, L.D. Gant; and a sister, Dale Bargery.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Naifeh, Glen Bargery, David Turner and Mike Gant.
