Joanne Marie Burks, 73, of Newbern, TN, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Reelfoot Manor Nursing Home in Tiptonville.

Joanne was born on April 18, 1949, in Mt. Vernon, NY. She was an employee for the Social Security Administration. Joanne earned her degree in Child Psychology while she was in Los Angeles, CA. She loved working with children.

Cremation services for Mrs. Burks are under the direction of Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Charles "Chuck" Burks of Newbern, TN; and a cousin, Linda Richardson (Philo) of Los Angeles, CA.

Joanne was preceded in death by her mother, Estelle Felton; and a brother, Russell Williams.
