Joan Butler Kaminski, 80, of Tiptonville, TN, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2026, at Diversicare of Martin. 

Born on June 15, 1946, in Lenox, Tennessee, she was the beloved daughter of the late, Dutch and Edna Jennings Butler. Joan lived a life marked by dedication, kindness, and a love for the simple joys that made each day brighter.

A proud 1964 graduate of Dyersburg High School, Joan displayed a strong commitment to learning from a young age. She continued her education at Bethel College from 1964 to 1966, broadening her horizons and forming friendships that lasted a lifetime. Joan’s professional journey led her to work as a bank teller for several banks in West Tennessee, where her warm demeanor and meticulous care touched colleagues and clients alike.

Outside of her career, Joan’s creative spirit flourished. She deeply loved doing crafts, finding joy and expression in creating things by hand. Her love for nature was evident to all who visited her home, where she spent countless hours lovingly tending to her flower beds. The beauty she cultivated in her garden was just one reflection of the beauty she sowed in the lives of those fortunate enough to know her.

Graveside services will be at 12 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2026. at Dyer County Memorial Gardens with Mr. Rick Crawford officiating. Family members and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her son, Thomas Kaminski and wife, Nancy, of Pace, FL; two daughters, Angela Gillespie of Piperton, TN and Elizabeth Kaminski of New Mexico; a brother, Cecil "Buddy" Butler of Dyersburg, TN; a sister, Charlotte Butler of Tiptonville, TN; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Kaminski; and three sisters.

Joan’s presence will be dearly missed, and her legacy of warmth, creativity, and steadfastness will live on in the hearts of all who were touched by her life.
