Joan Greer, 87, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis.

She was born on August 15, 1931, in Dyersburg, TN, to the late Joseph Franklin Welborn and the late Trula Campbell Welborn. Joan was a retired cafeteria worker for the Dyersburg City School System and was also a former employee of JC Penney's for 10 years. She was a 73-year member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and was very active in the Salvation Army and Union Mission.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Hillcrest Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny O'Guin and Mr. Larry Fowlkes officiating. Burial will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive visitors from 10:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Hillcrest Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 71 years, David Greer, Sr. of Dyersburg; two daughters, Becky Bryan Walker (Rodney) and Linda Davis, all of Dyersburg; three sons, Larry "Bubba" Greer (Mary Alice), Billy Greer (Vicki) and David W. Greer (Dana), all of Dyersburg; two sisters, Jane Jeffries (George) of Dyersburg and Jean Hataway of Memphis; two brothers, Tommy Welborn (Paula) of Knoxville and Joe Welborn (Barbara) of Memphis; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Mark Bryan, Caleb Greer, Bradley Greer, Jack Jones, Michael Davis and Connor Greer. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Gibson, Bill Pike, Claudie Gaskins, Vandel Spoon and Vernon Jones.
