Jimmy Ray "Tex" Young, 72, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at his residence.

Jimmy was born on March 18, 1947, to the late Luther and Norma Gibson Young. He was a retired general labor at Nordyene and a Vietnam Army Veteran. He was also a member of Phillips Church of Christ.

Services will be Sunday, December 1, 2019, at 3 pm in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home, conducted by Bro. Andy Brewer. Burial will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.

The Young family will receive visitors from 2-3 pm on Sunday, December 1, 2019 at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Verlie Aden Young, of Dyersburg, TN; a daughter, Tammy Fisher (Ronnie) of Friendship, TN; three sons, Jim Hill of Portland, OR, Shannon Hill of Dyersburg, TN and Brett Young (Carol) of Paris, TN; three sisters, Doris Timmer of Lakeland, FL, Linda Bland and Sandra Sanchez, both of Dyersburg, TN; two brothers, Luther "Huck" Young, Jr. of Finley, TN and William "Willie" Young of Dyersburg, TN; five grandchildren, Erica Kilzer, Searge Hill, Colton Hill, Lacee Brewer, and Brandon Young; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Patterson; and four brothers, Kenneth "Pete" Young, Rupert "Bubba" Young, Billy Reed Young, and David "Duck" Young.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Young, Clint Young, Searge Hill, Robert Jones and Charlie Jones.
