Jessie Willard "Pop" Hayes, 79, of Tiptonville, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2016 at his residence.

He was the retired owner of Hayes & Son Construction Company.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Hayes of Tiptonville; a son, Stoney Hayes of Tiptonville; two daughters, Tiwana Decker and Faye Hayes, both of Tiptonville; two brothers, Bill Hayes and Curtis Hayes and wife, Gwen, all of Martin; eight grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Ora Mae Utley Hayes; three sisters, Marie Hayes Brady, Nora Lee Cashon and Birdie May Pierce; and seven brothers, Carlton "Duke" Hayes, Sam Hayes, Milton "Pete" Hayes, Jack Hayes, Jr., Denon "Dill" Hayes, James Hatton Hayes and Robert "Tom" Hayes.
