Jesse Lee Pruitt, 84, of Dyersburg, died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2008 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
He was co-owner of Johnston & Pruitt Auto Repair, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and member of the 512th MP Battalion Reunion Association where he served as secretary-treasurer since 1989, he was a church deacon and song leader, and was a member of Fort Hudson Baptist Church.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Welch and the Rev. Don Layman officiating. Burial will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Pruitt; two daughters, Debbie Jones and husband, Mark, and Sharon Windle and husband, Ray, all of Dyersburg; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Pruitt; his parents, Otis and Nettie Pruitt; a sister, Ersie Caughron; and a brother, Orville Pruitt.
Pallbearers will be Chuck Burton, Anthony Parham, Billy Martindale, Larry Cook, Jerry Patton and Russell Caughron. Honorary pallbearers will be Doty Johnston, Harold Davidson, Ben Pruitt, Daniel Pruitt and Will Cross.
